Appreciation for John’s Books

“Give me some tips on parenting” is not something I’d ask of many. I would of Lehman. I find it nearly impossible to read a book on parenting if I don’t know the author’s family. I do know Lehman’s. That’s why I found it impossible not to read this book. It reads as smoothly and pastorally as if he were your mentor across the coffee table, pouring into your life. Think of this practical and biblical book as strong morning coffee for the long day of parenting—with extra shots of Scripture.

Because John “practices what he preaches,” I encourage you to consider utilizing this book for your own personal edification and your own marriage enrichment, as well as assisting others in their pursuit of God’s will for their lives in the portrayal of Christ and the Church.

Against the backdrop of a self-consumed society that pushes weight-loss tricks, fad diets, and elaborate fitness routines, Fit for the Master applies biblical wisdom and scientific evidence while making commonsense recommendations for physical exercise, nutrition, and sleep.  Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a rookie, I hope you will find—as I have found over the miles with John Lehman—the spiritual encouragement and essentials to improve or develop a healthy lifestyle.

“In this excellent resource, John uses the brushstrokes of wit, wisdom, hymns, history, and outstanding quotations to lead the reader into a deeper understanding of biblical encouragement.”
